    Professional Information

    Ph.D. in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of California, Berkeley, with a specialization in innovation and regional economic development. He is currently the founding director of the Collaborative Innovation Laboratory (LINNCO) at Universidad Anáhuac Mayab, where he leads projects that foster collective action to address social and environmental challenges in southeastern Mexico, with a particular focus on transforming food systems and promoting agrobiodiversity.

    He previously served as Southeast Regional Director of CONACYT (2014–2018), where he was responsible for advancing science, technology, and innovation policies and initiatives across five Mexican states. He has developed internationalization strategies for technology companies in Silicon Valley and founded initiatives aimed at connecting Latin America with global innovation ecosystems.

    His career spans government, academia, and international organizations, with a strong emphasis on cross-sector collaboration, sustainable regional development, and innovation with social impact.
