Gustavo Carvajal es profesor asistente en la Escuela de Literatura de la Universidad Finis Terrae, institución a la que se integró luego de completar su PhD en Estudios Culturales Latinoamericanos en la Universidad de Manchester. Es el autor de Women, Memory and Dictatorship in Recent Chilean Fiction (University of Wales Press, 2021) y co-editor junto a Ignacio Aguiló del volumen Chile desde los Estudios Culturales: Miradas actuales sobre poesía, narrativa y cultura visual (Ediciones Universidad Finis Terrae, 2019). Es el investigador principal del Proyecto Fondecyt regular 1240650 "Disaster writing and the Pink Tide in Latin America", financiado por ANID. Ha recibido invitaciones para presentar su trabajo de la Universidad de California (Los Ángeles), Stanford University, Tulane University, The University of Sydney y The University of Tokyo.
