    She studied a Bachelor's and Doctorate degree in Latin American Studies at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). Likewise, she has a Master's Degree in International Relations from the Universiteit Van Amsterdam (Netherlands). She was awarded the 2009 Fulbright-García Robles Scholarship for a research stay at Lewis University, Illinois, United States.

    She participated as a visiting professor in the European Union's Erasmus + Program in 2022, for an in-person stay at the University of Economics in Katowice, Poland.

    She has been named National Researcher Level I (2023 – 2027), of the National System of Researchers (SNI – Conacyt). She has collaborated as a peer evaluator of High Performance Postgraduate programs for CONAHCYT and is a member of evaluation committees for various peer-reviewed journals. She currently works as a professor and researcher at the Universidad Anáhuac Cancún.
