Bachelor's degree in Clinical Chemistry from the Universidad Veracruzana and PhD in Clinical Chemistry from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom. Master's degree and Specialization in Teaching Leadership from the Universidad Anáhuac Mayab. She has been part of the School of Medicine, Division of Health Sciences of the Universidad Anáhuac Mayab, since its opening in 1998. She has served as Coordinator of Basic Sciences, Coordinator of the Master's in Clinical Nutrition, full-time professor of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Genomics, and Proteomics, Clinical Pathology in the bachelor's degree, and Metabolic Bases of Nutrition in the Master's in Clinical Nutrition, as well as serving as a Research Professor. She is an active member and titular of the British Endocrinology Society and the Mexican Society of Nutrition and Endocrinology. Her scientific interest area is focused on bone metabolism and genomic instability in various clinical scenarios. She is the author and co-author of several national and international publications and has supervised 17 graduate theses (specialization, master's, and doctoral). In 2014, she was awarded the Kelloggs research project award as well as twice by the Mexican Society of Nutrition and Endocrinology (2018, 2023). Currently, she leads projects involving chronic-degenerative diseases in basic and translational science.
