Abstract

Despite the fact that the tourist demand is expected to reduce very much due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the tourism sector, the desire to travel and explore tourist destinations has not stopped, and also the more fragile tourists are increasingly interested in traveling. The number of tourists with special needs, in fact, is increasing worldwide, and many destinations are designing and developing completely new and technologically advanced services to meet the needs of all kinds of tourists, giving rise to the “tourism for all.” Based on these assumptions, this chapter aims to analyze how existing business models in tourism can be adapted to the “tourism for all” paradigm. In this vein, the chapter explores the case of Bibione, the first Italian tourism destination to have embarked on a path that guides the entire local tourist chain in the direction of full accessibility.
