Abstract
INTRODUCTION. The quality of indicators of teaching/learning and research processes are used for decision-making by the authorities of higher education institutions. However, these indicators only take into account input and output data. The social dynamics that are promot-ed within a university are indicators of educational quality. METHOD. Considering that education is a common good, through a metric (76 items) two basic common goods-educational relationship and research relationship-wereevaluated for university institutions through a scale, which is made up of eleven dimensions, aimed at students, professors and administra-tors (n= 1025, 52.1% women) of the Technological University of Querétaro (UTEQ). For data analysisstructural equation modeling was applied based on covariance(CB-SEM). RESULT. From the CB-SEM analysis, the following values for the goodness-of-fit indicators of the proposed model were obtained: χ2/gl = 1.69, RMSEA = 0.040, RMSR = 0.057, CFI = 0.997 and TLI = 0.996. DISCUSSION. It was found that the agency mediates the relationship of stability, governance, and justice in the educational and research relationship of UTEQ members, with the relationship between Agency and Governance of the educational relationship being the strongest among all pairs of dimensions, in contrast to Institutional Stability and Humanity. These relationships have an effect on the institution that will impact the humanity of the educational and research processes that occur within the university.
